Eakin′s ″Flowers over the Graves of War″ will have its Carnegie Hall premiere on February 20, 2012. The work is in six movements and scored for three soloists (soprano, mezzo, tenor), Chorus, and Orchestra. Choirs will come from around the country to take part in this monumental performance. The premiere will be on the Distinguished Concerts International New York Concert Series and conducted by Dr. Timothy Seelig.
Eakin’s score for “Visible Scars”, a thriller starring Tom Sizemore, is now finished. The score’s style spans a wide range, moving from haunting and creepy to jazzy and beautiful. On April 21, 2011, the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus performed Eakin’s “We are the Stars!”, the second movement of his widely performed “Stargazing”, for Male Chorus (SATB also available), String Orchestra, and Celesta. The performance took place at Davies Symphony Hall. A CD of the concert is available on the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus website.
James has just written music for a new ad campaign for Apple, Inc. More information will be available upon permission from Apple.
The Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles will perform Eakin’s “Sleep, my child” and “Open Your Heart at Christmas” on December 18th and 19th at the Alex Theatre under the baton of Timothy Seelig.
James is about to begin working on the score for “Visible Scars,” a horror film starring Tom Sizemore.
James has been hired by Rockstar Games as a voice actor for their new title Red Dead Redemption. The game will be released May 18, 2010 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
